To the Fortieth Anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up

China, as an ancient country, has always been a source of wisdom and strength for this oriental civilization with a time-honored history of 5,000 years. The year 2018 is a memorable year and a good time to draw on historical achievements. 2018 is the fortieth Anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up. The economy has experienced unprecedented changes in the last four decades.

Eric IBAÑEZ, General Manager of HMC, taking the chance of receiving interview of Heilongjiang TV News, talked about his feelings of working in China, and of the rapid development of China's economy. “I knew nothing before I came to China. Right now I am working in HMC, and I like the culture and food here. Especially I am surprised by the rapid development of China.” Eric said.

Indeed, in a short four decades, China maintained an average annual growth rate of more than 9 percent and became the world's second largest economy; China's share in the world economy increased from 2.7 to 16  percent; its per capita GDP rocketed from around $100 to over $8,000.

“Now HMC have the same manufacturing capabilities with same quality and qualifications with Europe.”, Eric mentioned.
