Conducted simultaneously with the iCompany Sustainability Project Team in Airbus Beijing, Zero Food Waste Challenge was launched in HMC to advocate employees to cherish food and develop frugal dining habits from October 16th to 20th, encouraging everyone to start from “me”, say goodbye to leftovers and say no to waste!
This year is the second year we have launched the Zero Food Waste Challenge, which has been upgrading from a 2-day event to a 5-day challenge. Now, Zero Food Waste has become a part of HMC culture and a microcosm of sustainable development concept. During the past 5 days, over 170 employees have participated, of which at least 149 have completed the 5-day challenge; Over 27.5% of food were saved every day. From moderately taking food to reducing leftovers, we have achieved the challenge of food saving and waste elimination through actions and awareness. Everyone uses the plates in their hands to establish a reverence for food resources.
In the future, HMC will encourage more people to participate in the action of "saving food and loving food" from small steps, and keep the development of green and sustainable production enduring.
