October 16th is the "World Food Day". From October 25th to 26th, in order to advocate saving food and treasuring resources, HMC launched the "Zero Food Waste Challenge" to encourage everyone to order food moderately and eliminate food waste.
During the activity, videos about saving food and no waste were played on a loop in the canteen, which showing the hard work before grains harvest, calling on everyone to respect the fruit of labor, setting the trend of saving and cultivating the habit of Zero Food Waste for everyone. At once, Zero Food Waste became a tacit agreement among teams, and everyone participated in challenge with urging each other to order as needed without leftovers. More than 240 employees completed the challenge in two days. Over 30% of food were saved every day. Those employees challenged successfully all got exclusive bookmarks and souvenirs. The little sense of ritual let the trend of thrift to be traced.
Eat moderately and cherish food. The " Zero Food Waste Challenge " not only turned a great civilization on the small table into action, but also shaped the virtual of saving in the corporate culture of HMC, which letting the delicious food cultivated by years last longer, and let the resources given by nature go further.
As a factory of lean management, HMC actively joined initiatives of Airbus China's iCompany Sustainability this year and successively carried out Ecomobility Day, Facility Signage and Zero Food Waste Challenge. Starting with a grain of rice, a kilowatt hour of electricity and a piece of paper, HMC integrates the concept of energy conservation, low-carbon and environmental protection into life, and contributes ourselves to the sustainable development of society.
